Barbara J. (Yakonis) Carter, age 79 of Wallingford, PA, died on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at her daughter's home, surrounded by her loving family.

Barb was a meat wrapper for 25 years with Pathmark, most often working at the Folsom and Marple locations. She retired in 1996. 

Barb found great joy in gardening. Gammy, affectionately known by her grandchildren, especially cherished attending her grandsons’ baseball games, where she was their biggest fan and took great joy in cheering them on from the stands.  One of Barb’s favorite places was spending time at Ocean City, New Jersey, where she found peace and joy.

Daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Young) Yakonis; Wife of the late James Carter, Mother of the late Richard Highfield; Grandmother of the late Jason Smith and Rachael Highfield; Sister of the late Elizabeth Cianfrani.

Daughter: Susan D. (Ed) Smith

Son: Timothy (Carol) Highfield, Sr.

Grandchildren: Ryan Smith and Timothy Highfield, Jr.

Great-Grandchildren: Hailey, Aubrey and Carson Smith
