John Kapo

John  Kapo, age 34, passed away on June 20, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, friendship, adventure, and dreams pursued with unwavering determination.

Born on October 22, 1991, in Athens, Greece, to a family of Albanian heritage, John spent the first seven years of his life in Greece before moving with his family to the United States. From an early age, he possessed an infectious enthusiasm for life that would become one of his defining characteristics and touch everyone fortunate enough to know him.

John graduated from the Ridley School District in 2009 with honors, in the top ten in his class. At Ridley, John distinguished himself both academically and athletically. A gifted and versatile athlete, he excelled in soccer, swimming, tennis, and track. His natural talent was matched by his dedication, determination, and positive spirit. 

Following high school, John attended the University of Maryland before completing his undergraduate studies at Temple University, where he earned a degree in General Studies with minors in Italian and Business. One of John's great passions was for Italy, its culture, and its people. Fluent in Italian, John spent several years living and working in Italy during and after his university years, embracing the country he loved and forming friendships that would last a lifetime. Upon returning to the United States, John pursued a variety of professional paths, including serving as a high school Italian teacher.

John was a gifted dreamer. He possessed a rare ability to imagine possibilities beyond the ordinary and the courage to pursue what others might consider impossible. Among his greatest aspirations was a lifelong dream of becoming an actor. Though John never had the chance to fully realize that dream, it reflected the adventurous spirit and optimism that defined his character.

John's kind and unassuming nature made friendship with him effortless. Whether meeting someone for the first time or reconnecting with an old friend, he had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome and valued. His infectious smile, love of dancing, boundless energy, and genuine interest in others drew people to him wherever he went. He was truly a friend to all he met.

John is survived by his loving mother, Bali Hasko of Woodlyn, Pennsylvania; his father, George Kapo of Aston, Pennsylvania; and his sister, Iris Kapo of Swarthmore, Pennsylvania. He also leaves behind a large extended family and countless friends whose lives were enriched by his presence.

Though his life ended far too soon, John filled his years with adventure, learning, friendship, and love. He will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives he touched and remembered always for his warmth, generosity of spirit, and unwavering belief that even the most impossible dreams were worth pursuing. May his memory be eternal.

Visitation: Saturday, June 27th from 9:30-10:15AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Funeral Service: Saturday, June 27th at 10:30AM at the funeral home.

Interment: Media Cemetery, 40 Kirk Lane, Media, PA 19063.
