Jacqueline L. Habbersett Obituary
Jacqueline L. Habbersett, “Jackie”, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, of Wallingford, PA, formerly of Media and Chester, PA, passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side, on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the age of 87.
Jackie was born on August 15, 1938, in Wilmington, DE, to the late Joseph Rizzo and Margaret (Day) Rizzo. Shortly after, she moved to Chester, PA. Jackie’s childhood was shaped by her grandmother, whom she lovingly called “Mama”. She graduated from Chester High School, where she developed lifelong friendships. She had a love for ice skating. After graduating, she worked at the Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company in Media, PA until she was married to the late Frank C. Habbersett, “Hank”. Happily married, Hank suddenly died, leaving her to raise three small children under the age of six. She never remarried, choosing instead to devote her life to her children and building a warm, loving home for them. She spent many years as a homemaker until returning to work as an account manager at First Keystone Bank in Brookhaven, PA. She retired after 22 years of service.
In her earlier years, Jackie enjoyed needle pointing, cross stitching, and knitting. She was an amazing cook and had a knack for style and fashion. She was an avid reader. Her love for reading lasted throughout her life. Often you would find her at Barnes and Noble or sitting with a good book reading in Starbucks. She enjoyed being out and about, around people. Her favorite things were dining out with family and friends, as well as spending summer weekends on the eastern shore of the upper Chesapeake Bay. Weekends of jigsaw puzzling into the wee hours. She was lovingly called “Bubbe” by her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Her legacy of love will go on through them.
Jackie will be remembered for her warmth, quiet strength, and devotion to her family. She will be greatly missed.
