Obituary of Sarah D. Strain Wiggins
SARAH DOROTHY BRISCOE STRAIN WIGGINS
Sarah “Sally” Strain Wiggins, 99, of Media, Pennsylvania, went to be with the Lord on July 3, 2018. Sally was born on December 7, 1918. She was the fifth child of William and Amy Briscoe. She was a lifelong resident of Delaware County. In 1936 Sally graduated Salutatorian of her class from Glen-Nor High School, Glenolden, Pennsylvania. On October 10, 1936 she married Albert Roy Strain, Sr. The couple raised their three children in Morton. When Sally was widowed at a young age with a 12-year old to raise, she went to work full-time at Scott Paper Company. She was a professional secretary there for 20 years. On April 2, 1982, she married Robert Irwin Wiggins. In her mid-seventies, Sally moved into Granite Farms Estates. She enjoyed doing crafts, playing pinochle with friends, traveled, and volunteered in their thrift shop. One of her favorite places to go was the shore. She wrote that the ocean never changed. It reminded her of God—the same yesterday, today and forever. If you knew Sally, you knew she loved the Lord and she loved her family.
