Obituary of Katherine W. Blanchard

Kathy (Walter) Blanchard, a long time resident of Delaware County, died July 9, 2018, at Lima Estates, Media, PA. 19063. She was born July 23, 1941, to Henry and Elsie Walter and graduated from John Bartram High School in Philadelphia, PA in 1958. She received her B.S. in Education from West Chester State Teachers College in 1962 and taught elementary school in the Haverford Township School District for more than 30 years.

Kathy was an avid reader and lover of books. At Lima Estates she led book clubs with residents of WillowBrooke Court and Oakbridge Terrace and also enjoyed volunteering at the local library.

She is survived by special friends: Jessie Freeman, Sally Mancini, Jeanne Pocock and her cousin Susan Hendley.

A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held at 10AM, Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Lima Estates, 411 N. Middletown Road, Media, PA 19063.

Internment is private at Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA 19026.
