Obituary of Ian Christopher McSwain

Ian "Arkitekt" Christopher McSwain was born on September 15, 1992 in Beltsville, MD to Roberta Jackson and Damian McSwain.  

We all knew Ian in many ways, for many different reasons. Like all of us, he had his demons, however, as countless can attest to, nothing ever dimmed the light he brought to each and every one of us.

Always the smartest in the room, Ian graduated from Campbell High School in 2010. Of course, that was just the tip of the iceberg for his many talents and interests. A walking almanac, he pulled facts out of his brain as smoothly as he played the many instruments at his disposal. The guitar being his favorite, his cool melodies matched his eccentric lovable personality.

His artistry could be felt, whether through his pick-tattered hands or colorful tattoos. Oh, and don’t forget about his love for games, athletic, but especially electronic. From Kingdom Hearts to Skyrim, not only would he beat the game but he’d tell you the tactical breakdown of how it was accomplished.

If you close your eyes you can still see his infectious smile and hear his booming laugh. Above all else, that is what he would want us to remember today.

He is survived by his mother, Roberta Jackson (CA), father, Damian McSwain (GA), sister, Candace Wheeler (CA), Nana, Roberta Finely (FL), Granddad, Donald Jackson (PA), Grandmother, Martina McSwain (GA), Grandfather, John McSwain (TX), Aunts Donna Lockhart (Dale of FL), Courtney Perez (Calvin of TX),and Ashley Waffer (Jay of TX), Uncles Frank Jackson (TX) and Allen Edwards (Christina of GA), Aunts Tiffany (GA) and Tanya McSwain (PA), Cousins Sydney, Calvin III, and Savannah Perez (TX), Taj Blackwell (PA), Jaeden, Jace and Christian Edwards (GA), and Chloe McSwain (GA).He also leaves a host of close cousins, friends and "chosen family" members to cherish his memory.

Memorial Service: Saturday, November 3rd at 2:00PM at the Minshall Shropshire Bleyler Funeral Home, Ltd. Middletown Rd. (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.
