Obituary of Jean A. Landis

Jean Landis, age 95, died Monday, April 27, 2020. Jean was born in New York City, the daughter of Ronald and Ella Acken. She attended Wheaton College for undergraduate work and received her nursing degree from Columbia Presbyterian University. Most of her career she worked at Lankenau Medical Center as a nurse and later as a nursing instructor for 25 years. Jean will be remembered mostly for her faithful walk with God and love of her family. She lived a very full life of dedication to her family, church, always doing for others, cooking, sewing and enjoying the beach. She traveled the world with her husband and was his sidekick for countless camping/fishing trips. She had endless energy and her work ethic was superior…such an example for all who knew her and loved her. Jean was predeceased by her loving husband, John, who she was married to for 58 years and her sister, Barbara Boone. She is survived by her children David (Linda) Landis, Beth (Tom) Shoemaker, Phyllis (Dan) Wakefield, Becky (Steve) Blaho, Pete (Suzi) Landis…two sisters, Phyllis Jensen and Patricia Myhren…12 grandchildren, Katy, Matt, Doug, Phyllis, Whitney, Brooke, Jackie, Johnny, David, Molly, Lauren and Stephanie…and 2 great-granddaughters, Ella and Jillian.
