Obituary of Robert J. Birney

Robert J. Birney, "Bob" "Butch" age 72, of Aston, formerly of Chester Twp. died Saturday, October 1, 2011. Bob was a truck driver for American Rendering Company. Mr. Birney also was employed by Penn Delco School District for many years until his retirement in 2009. Bob was the Fire Chief of Feltonville Fire Co. He was in fire service since he was 16yrs old and was an active member until the 1980's. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and most of all, spending time with his family. He is the son of the late Samuel and Delia (Nye) Birney and the father of the late Russell H. Watkins and Randall R. Birney. SURVIVORS: Wife of 46 years: Joan Miles Birney 2 SONS: Richard W. Watkins, Sr. (Vivian) of Newark, DE. And Robert J. Birney, Jr. (Sue) of Bethel twp, PA DAUGHTER: Eileen D. Bailey (Dave) of Aston. Brother Walter Birney Sisters: Dorothy Sloan and Ella Mae Cathcart. 15 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Eileen Baily for Robert Birney Memorial account to any Wells Fargo Branch to benefit the Pennell Elementary students.
