Obituary of Albert H. Saunders, Sr.

Albert H. Saunders, Sr., “Sonny”, age 82, of Linwood, PA, passed away peacefully on March 1^st, 2022 at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on August 31^st, 1939 to George S. Saunders, Sr. and Grace L. Washington Saunders in Middlesex County, VA.  He attended the Oak Grove School in Montross, VA.

Albert Joined the Navy in Feb., 1962, where he served on the USS Monrovia (APA-31) out of Norfolk, VA during the Cuban Crisis. After his honorable discharge from the US Navy in 1968, he was employed at Boeing, before retiring after 34 years.

Albert was an active member of Chichester Baptist Church. He loved hunting in Potter County, working on cars, and woodworking in his shed. He especially loved spending time at his “beach” with his family, fishing and crabbing. He would spend countless hours in the winter preparing for his vegetable garden in the spring.

He was preceded in death by parents: George S. Saunders, Sr. & Grace Lee Saunders. His youngest daughter Kelly Maguire. His brothers George S. Saunders, Jr., Robert L. Saunders and son-in-law Kenneth Miller.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Audrey M. (Yeager) Saunders of Linwood, PA. His precious daughters: Becky (Glenn) Scott and Lisa Miller. His sons: Albert H. Saunders, Jr. and John Saunders.  Son-in-law Corry Maguire.

His beautiful grandchildren: Chelsea (Joe) Doris, Zachary and Joshua Scott, Logan and Riley Maguire, Manuel and Tommy Scott, John Jr. and Brianna Saunders. His adorable great-grandchildren: Lincoln, Ruby and Makenzie Doris, and his god-daughter Amy Powell.

Brothers: Billy (Elaine) Saunders, Mike (Cheryl) Saunders

Sisters: Margie Garner, Carolyn Newsom and Wendy (Al) D’Archangelo, and sister-in- law Barbara Saunders. Many nieces, nephews.

Visitation: Monday, March 7th from 10:00 -11:15AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. # 352) Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Funeral Service: Monday, March 7th at 11:30AM at the funeral home.

Interment: Lawn Croft Cemetery.
