Mr. Jack Harper came along on in my life when I was only 12 years old. At the time, I was a crazed go-kart nut. He became a good friend and mentor to me and took me under his wing when my father died a short time afterward. He found room in his life for me, even though he had two boys of his own to raise. He helped me greatly, in the building of my go-kart and taught me a lot about cars. His oldest son Ken and I eventually, became best of friends. The kindness and generosity of Jack and his family will be remembered always.
