Condolences
My deepest condolences. Phil was an ever welcome presence on many committees and at church functions providing wise counsel ... and more than a few laughs.
We are so sorry for your loss. It's always heart breaking to lose someone you love and we are sorry for your heart break.
We met Mr. Allen through Resurrection Episcopal church 6 years ago when we joined the parish. We enjoyed getting to know him through reading his obituary and watching your presentation. We are so sorry we didn't really know him- he was such an incredible man but he never flaunted his accomplishments. We remember Mr. Allen quiet, dry sense of humor during coffee hour after mass. He was a truly lovely man.
Phil Allen was a most generous friend. We were high school classmates. Both of our fathers worked for Bridgeport Brass during WWII. We were roommates at MIT. I knew his wife, Joan, when they were dating. He invited us to live with his family in Springfield for a month while we were settling in Pennsylvania. He gave of his time to help paint my home to get a better FHA mortgage. When our company gave free furnaces after Christmas, he paid for their fuel! I am grateful for the friendship we've shared over the years.
