Obituary of Jane C. Hamilton

Jane Curry Hamilton (Nee) Petit de Mange, age 96, of Garnet Valley, PA, and recently of Wilmington, DE passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023. 

Jane was born in Wilmington, DE on September 17, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Lillian Spotts and sister of the late Thurman L. Petit de Mange.

 She began her education in a one room school house in Lancaster County before moving to Chester, PA where she attended Martin Elementary, Wetherill Elementary, Smedley Jr. High School and graduated Chester High School, Class of 1944.

 Jane married her first husband, Norman William Curry in September, 1944.  She married her second husband, Herbert E. Hamilton, in November 1994.  Herbert and Jane moved to Hawthorne at Leesburg in Leesburg, FL where they resided for almost 20 years.  After Herbert's death in 2007, Jane returned to Pennsylvania. She will be deeply missed and will be fondly remembered for her colorful spirit and great zest for life.

 Jane was predeceased by her husbands, Norman William Curry and Herbert E. Hamilton; stepchildren, Susan Hamilton Brennan and David Hamilton; and one grandson, Brian Fedock.

Stepchildren:  Eric Hamilton of Spring Hill, FL, Margie Hamilton of Aston, PA, Sara (James) MacColl of Bear, DE, Herbert (Anita) Hamilton of Elverson, PA, Katie (Connor) Fahey of Aston, PA

Grandchildren:  Dawn Alvord, Will Curry, Karen Zielonka, Laura Fedock and Kathryn Lattanzio

Six great grandchildren and sixteen step-grandchildren.

 Services will be private.
