Obituary of James S. Smith

James S. Smith, age 77, of Aston, PA, formerly of Broomall, PA, died on August 2, 2023 at Riddle Memorial Hospital.

Jim was born April 12, 1946. He received a Master’s Degree from Villanova University.  Jim was employed for 40 years with Marple Newtown School District as a history teacher and administrator. Most of those years, as an educator.

Jim was a member of the ARRL for 62 years. He spoke of his love for the outdoors, teaching, family and our rich history as a country, to listeners all over the world.

Son of the late Sidney T. and Alice (McQuiston) Smith, of Broomall, PA.

Loving Wife of 53 years: Joan D. (Christensen) Smith

Daughter and Son-in-law: Amy K. (Smith) Walls and Christopher N. Walls

Granddaughters: Gabrielle B. Walls, Lauren O. Walls and Lindsey G. Walls of West Chester, PA

Sister-in-Law: Karen G. Christensen of Clearwater, Florida

Niece: Kelly A. Dougherty of Memphis, Tennessee

Services and Interment Private.
