Betty joined our Yoga for Cancer Patients class on September 18, 2019 and quickly became a devoted yogi. She always brought her special joyful light to each session and inspired everyone to live beyond their diagnosis. Throughout her doctors appointments, exams, tests, and treatments she remained resolved to bring her best self and support others in their cancer journeys. My heart goes out to her wonderful, supportive family. Her "Betty George" hip massage will remain a part of our yoga practice and her strong spirit will continue to inspire others on their cancer journeys.
Namaste, our dear friend Betty.
Betty was better known as the cruise director at work. I was lucky to have her come into my life when I started at the Fed. She was always, and I am talking about 5+ years, always a bright and happy light during my day. She was always ready to help anyone. She always made sure you were taken care of and you knew she would always be smiling when you came in, UNLESS, she was in Disney!! I wish I could say thank you for everything you did and made me feel so welcome. You were always the best. When you retired, we lost a part of a team that could take on the world. But, you gave us Gwen and knew we could keep going. I hope you had wonderful years after retirement. Thank you Betty.
I had the pleasure of working (remotely) with Betty for many years. We both loved baseball & had a friendly bet when our teams were in the playoffs or world series. Even though we never met in person (I’m in San Francisco), she was a delight to work with & truly cherished our constant interaction whether it is about work or sports.
You will be truly missed. Rest in peace my friend.
I met Betty 50 years ago when I worked as a co-op at Sun Oil in Phila. Watching the service, I realized how different we were BUT always sisters in our hearts. Betty was organized, I fly by the seat of my pants. I’m a potty mouth, I don’t think I ever remember Betty saying a curse word. Betty never questioned her faith; I have to admit there are times I find it difficult to offer myself up in prayer to God. On a visit to Dallas, Tx she taught my dog Winston to lay down and roll over, something I could never accomplished or have the patience for. Betty went through my joy of becoming a parent (twice), my parents death, a divorce, a new marriage (loving and long lasting to a Sun Oil Dan Ferree). She was the one I called when my dad passed to ask her to come to Hanneman hospital to pick up me and my mother. She never hesitated, always said yes. She was always there. We took a trip to visit and planned on going to “the shore”. Betty gave us a beach gift basket that I thought I would have to rent a uhaul to get to the shore. It had everything we needed for the day...and more. As recently as April this year my son, age 25, had a serious illness. Betty sent him a visa gift card and I know she sent her prayers also. (He is doing well). Betty’s gifts and homemade cards were so special to me. I had to let her know when we lost our dog; if I did not, she would send a Christmas present for our pet along with the special gifts for us. When we got another dog I sent her a picture and sure enough that Christmas there was a gift for Sophie. I’ll miss our bets on the Phillies/Ranger ball game, but especially the Eagles and Dallas Cowboys. If she lost, I would get Tastykakes or Herr’s chips. They are not sold in Dallas so I would anxiously wait for their arrival. When we would visit her, the first stop she would make, regardless of the time of day, was to a hoagie shop. Dallas will NEVER make a correct hoagie! So many good memories. In January I spoke with her, and it was the first time I ever remember hearing her down. Her cancer had returned and yes, she hated it. How sad we all were to get that news.
Thank you, Ricky, for the wonderful service. As sinful and selfish human beings we long to have our departed loved ones back with us. I have peace knowing that Betty is where she longed to be, all healed, with our loving Savior Jesus Christ. I love you Betty Paul George! My continued prayers for the George family, the extended family and all her friends.
Betty was an inspiration and delight to everyone who knew her - she truly lived every day to its fullest and made everything, even WORK, a fun experience. She had a heart of gold, and inspired us all to be better people with her beautiful inner light and incredible zest for life. I was truly blessed to know sweet Betty, and my heart goes out to all who mourn her passing.
OUR DEEPEST HEARTFELT SYMPATHY WITH THE PASSING OF YOUR BETTY PAUL. THE SERPICO FAMILY WERE BLESSED TO HAVE CROSSED PATHS WITH SUCH A BRIGHT LIGHT!.
Sending my deepest condolences to Betty's family and her many friends. I had the pleasure of getting to know Betty while she worked at the Federal Reserve. She was full of kindness, and one of the funniest people I knew. She always had that warm smile especially when talking about Disney. My heart is saddened at the news of her passing, and she will be deeply missed. Godspeed Betty. Until we meet again.
All I can say is Thank You Betty for the great memories and times we had in that room at the Federal Reserve Bank. You was truly a blessing to me and my son. Thank you Betty
We were so sorry to hear of Bettypaul‘s passing. Although we didn’t ever live close, we enjoyed such an amazing and wonderful family together. I always think of Bettypaul when I think of our reunions and all the time that she put into them. She had so much fun, making crafts and playing with the children. So glad that we got to bring our mom, Ruth, up to the reunion for her 90th birthday. She was so excited to see her cousin and friend, Betty George. So happy we got to see Bettypaul and the girls then. Betty Paul is so great to stay in touch with our mom in the last few years of her life, too.
Mom looked forward to her calls. Prayers for all of your family. Bettypaul was loved and will be missed by many.
To a wonderful friend who loved everyone. Will miss your wit. Rest in God's hands now until we meet again. Love you.
Deepest sympathy to the family. Betty was a wonderful person, fun ,living and mist kindest ladies I've known. She loved telling about Disney and going down for ice cream and had to have wet walnuts.
I wanted to add - Betty is one of the kindest, selfless and most considerate people I’ve ever known. I know she got a “Fastpass” to heaven.
My sincere condolences to Betty's family and friends. Betty was a light to everyone she knew. My husband would not be here today if Betty didn't come to the rescue. She was a good friend and always dependable at work. She will be missed.
My most heartfelt condolences to all her family and friends. I am heartbroken to hear this news. Even though I had not met the family - I feel like I know some of you - she would talk about all the Disney trips you went on - she enjoyed sharing those times with you so much!! And i shared her love of Disney myself. I also loved to hear her stories of the bell choir at church. I remember the Star Trek conventions she organized with co-workers and those that we went to together. She always decorated the halls of work and remembered every holiday and birthday of her co-workers. She was selflessly generous! She was also SOoooo creative with her arts and crafts. She was a beacon of love and kindness to all that new her and will be missed more than words could say. She now will be another one of our angels in heaven - where she has definitely earned a spot - and will watch us from above - until we meet again !
My sincere condolences to Betty’s family and friends. Betty was an awesome friend and coworker; she will truly be missed.
Betty was a very dear friend to me for over 38 years. We had good times together at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. Over the years we always kept in contact with each other. I will miss her very much. We are blessed with friends, but Betty was truly a very special friend to me. God bless you, Betty. I will miss you forever!
