Obituary of Vera E. Burlew Hosler

Vera Elizabeth Burlew Hosler, age 97, died on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Lima Estates Retirement Community. Vera was born in Essington, PA. She was a graduate of Springfield High School, Class of 1944.  Vera was a resident of Brookhaven for 64 years.

Vera was a secretary with Chalmers & Kubeck for more than 30 years, retiring in 1992.  She volunteered for more than 25 years with the Wilmington VA Medical Center. She was a longtime member of the former Providence United Methodist Church and currently a member of Christ United Methodist Church, where she was a part of the Methodist Women.

Daughter of the late Anton Walter and Antonia (Jarek) Flurick; Wife of the late Roy O. Burlew, Jr. and Peter Hosler; Sister of the late Josephine Yankovoy.

Survivors:

Vera loved her family and friends. Her grandchildren were her delight, and Vera especially enjoyed spending time with them.

8 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren, 5 Step-Children, 6 Step-Grandchildren

Visitation: Thursday, October 12^th from 9:30-10:45AM at Christ United Methodist Church, 600 Dutton Mill Rd., Brookhaven, PA 19015.

Funeral Service:  Thursday, October 12^th at 11:00AM Christ United Methodist Church.

Interment: Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
