Obituary of Marie Rita Scambia

Marie Rita (Bonanno) Scambia, age 88, passed away peacefully at her home in Brookhaven, on Saturday, October 21, 2023. She was born in Italy on May 21, 1935 to the late Mariano and Giovanna (Schiattereggia) Bonanno.

Marie worked for Penn Delco School District for many years. She was also a seamstress and homemaker.   Marie enjoyed cooking, traveling, sewing and gardening. She loved the Jersey shore and spending time with her family and friends. She was a caring and loving wife for 67 years to the late John Scambia, who passed away in June, 2023.

Marie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed.

Daughters: Donna (Harry) Goldy and Debra Scambia

Grandson: Daniel (Alicia) Goldy

Great-Granddaughter: Savanah Rose Goldy

Sister: Angela Stio

Brother-in-law: Frank (Pat) Scambia

Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Thursday, October 26^th from 10:30-11:15AM at the Minshall

Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Funeral Service: Thursday, October 26^th at 11:30AM at the funeral home.

Entombment: Fernwood Mausoleum.
