Obituary of Charles T. Shields

Charles T. Shields, age 76, a resident of Media, PA, formerly of West Philadelphia, PA, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at home with his loving family by his side.   Charlie was a graduate of St. Thomas Moore High School, Class of 1965, and a graduate of Temple University, Class of 1974.

Charlie was employed with Acme Markets for 45 years, retiring in 2010. Charlie was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. 

Charlie was an avid Philadelphia sports fan.  He was devoted to his family and loved spending time together in Sea Isle City on vacations.

Son of the late Hugh J. and Katherine (McKeever) Shields.

Daughters: Erin (Philip) Steffan, Peggy (Randell) Buckson, Kathleen (Joshua) Kelley, Maureen (James) Buckson

11 Grandchildren: Abby, Keira, Ryan, Grace, Maura, Charlie, Brendan, Bridget, James, Annmarie, Hugh

Sisters: Maryanne Flanagan, Kathleen Patton

Brother: Monsignor Hugh J. Shields

Visitation: Wednesday, November 29th from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA, 19063, and Thursday, November 30th from 10:00-10:45 AM at St. Francis de Sales Church, 35 New Rd., Aston, PA 19014.

Funeral Mass: Thursday, November 30th at 11:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales Church.

Interment with Military Honors: Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
