Obituary of Kathleen A. Phillips

Kathleen A. Phillips, age 84, of Middletown Twp., Delaware County, PA, formerly of Darby, PA, died Friday, January 5, 2024 at Riddle Memorial Hospital, surrounded with those who loved her.

Kathleen was born Thursday, September 5, 1940 in South Philadelphia, PA. She worked at Philadelphia National Bank and became one of the best check proofers in the industry. She then moved on to QVC as they started the company and home shopping experience, working her way to Check Processing Manger, for 26 years, the job she loved.

She was an excellent cook! There was no type of dish that she could not perfect. She especially excelled at desserts that would leave you speechless. Kay would be known for preparing Thanksgiving dinner with her Sister Eileen McShane for more than 25 people. Nobody ever left the table hungry.

Kay’s true passion was her family and socializing with her friends. She could always be counted on to bring energy to the group and make others feel at ease and comfortable.

She attended Church of the Nazarene on N. Providence Road in Media, PA 19063. This is where she truly enjoyed the people, pastor and the fellowship. She will be missed so much by family and friends.

Predeceased by her husband, Russell M. Phillips, June 2020 and sister, Eileen McShane, 2020.

Son (Rusty) Russell W. Phillips, Meredith Reardon, Shannon (Jeff Moore) Reardon, Knick Reardon.       

Visitation: Saturday, January 13th from 9:30-10:15AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.

Funeral Service: Saturday, January 13th at 10:30AM at the funeral home.

Interment: Montrose Cemetery, Upper Darby, PA.
