Obituary of Barbara Jean Collins

Barbara Jean (Edge) Collins, “Jeanie” age 91, of Sewell, NJ, formerly of Brookhaven, PA, died on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Jefferson Hospital, Washington Township.

Jeanie was born on November 19, 1932 and was a graduate of Media High School.  She worked as a waitress, a bookkeeper for Fair Acres, and then in the billing department for a renal office.

Later in life, she converted to Catholicism and joined St. Rose of Lima Parish. She enjoyed knitting and made slippers and hats for family and friends.  After Jeanie retired, she would spend Saturdays with her friend, Bette, going to craft fairs, shopping, lunch dates, or just exploring new places. Jeanie was an avid reader and loved her happy hours.

When her grandsons were young, she loved spending Christmas Eve at their house and waking up with the boys while they opened their presents.  She loved staying at her trailer at Holly Lake and taking trips to Stone Harbor beach with her late friend Betty Leonard, and her son, Michael and his wife Mindy and her grandsons.

Daughter of the late William and Hattie (Donovan) Edge; Mother of the late Bill and Debbie Collins.
