Obituary of Lewis M. Sterner

Lewis M. "Doc" Sterner, 98, of Riddle Village, Media, PA and formerly of Rose Valley, PA and Swarthmore, PA died Tuesday, September 3, 2013. Mr. Sterner was born in Hanover, PA; he attended Hanover High School where he met his beloved wife, Doris "Ditter" Witmer, who preceded him in death, at the age of 91. Mr. Sterner was a 1937 graduate of Dickenson College and a 1939 graduate of Harvard Business School. He served in the Navy from 1942-1946, after joining IBM in 1939. Mr. Sterner managed IBM offices in York, PA and Chester, PA. After 22 years, he moved to Xerox Corporation, where he opened its first office center in New York City, NY, and later opened the Philadelphia, PA office. With his family, he was an avid traveler, and a long-time member of Rolling Green Golf Club. SURVIVORS Daughter: Susan Sterner Son: L. David Sterner
