Condolences
Dot was like a second mom to me. She was the only woman that could scold me with a smile on her face! She and Van showed me alot of love, for which I'll always be grateful. Now she's playing cards with my mom, Ruth! My love goes out to your entire family. Take Care, Jim and Amy Almeida
Mrs. Tubbs was the best neighbor and friend to my Mom.
She was a very creative and caring woman-from girl scouts,
her ceramic classes, sewing my dress hems, and buying numerous hand loomed potholders for .25 cents that I made at age 10.. she will be missed.
My Aunt Dot was a very special lady. We may not have seen each other often, with me down in South Florida, but we spent countless hours on the phone. One of my phone calls that I recall was extra special. It was soon after my mom (Aunt Dot's sister) died and I had called to tell her about the ceremony. I told her that it was amazing all the butterflies we saw, as we spread her ashes in her favorite place. I told Aunt Dot, that if mom could have been there she would have enjoyed it. She replied, “What makes you think she didn’t?”
Mrs. Tubbs really knew how to sew. When I was sewing my clothes (back in the day)and come across a problem (putting a facing or sleeve in) I would run next door to Mrs. Tubbs and she knew the tricks on how to fix it. She was great. I would think of her and her family often when I would visit my brother David (who still lives next to the "old" homestead. Prayers and condolences to you all, Linda
I was in Mrs. Tubb's company on many occasions. April and I have been friends since we were in grade school. There were at least 7 of us girls who would always get together. She and Mr. Tubb's always opened their house to us as our "meeting place". She was also my Girl Scount leader. Needless to say, she was a fine lady.
Growing up with Wayne, I remember how tolerant she was of us and what a great mom.
I'm sorry for your loss, as she'll be remembered fondly.
