Obituary of Harry T. Carpenter
Harry "Tom" Thomas Carpenter, age 89, of Swarthmore, PA, died at home on Saturday, May 10, 2014. Tom was born in Chester, PA, and had been a resident of Westtown, PA, before moving to Swarthmore, PA, in 1988.
Tom was a veteran of the US Army, serving during World War II, and the recipient of the Purple Heart and other combat metals. He was a member of the American Legion, Fred Scott Post #777, Crum Lynne, PA. Tom worked with B.P. Oil Company for 35 years, retiring as a Lab Technician, in 1983. Tom enjoyed golf, fishing and walking.
