Obituary of John W. Cook

John "Jack" W. Cook, Sr., age 91, of Brookhaven, PA, died Sunday, December 7, 2014, at Riddle Memorial Hospital. He was born in Marcus Hook, PA, and was a graduate of Eddystone High School. Jack was a proud Veteran of the US Army, serving from February 3, 1943 until December 14, 1945. He fought for more than two years in the Philippines, and was active with the invasion of Luzon. During his service, Jack earned the rank of Technical Sergeant for Company F, 108th Infantry, 40th Division. He earned the Good Conduct Medal, 4 Bronze Stars, a Victory Medal and a Purple Heart. Jack worked with Sinclair Oil Company, which later became BP, Marcus Hook, PA, for 42 years, until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of Upland Baptist Church, for more than sixty years. Jack also, was a member of the Chester Masonic Lodge #236 F&AM, and a life member of the Oil, Atomic and Chemical Workers Union. Jack loved spending time with his family, and enjoyed his home.
