I've been trying to think of what to say about Aunt Marie. I had the privilege of seeing her in her last days and having the chance to say goodbye and let her know how much my children and I love her. The thing that sticks out the most to me is how much she loved her family. As we sat together, she said how happy it made her to hear all of the little kids playing in the next room. She loved that her house was one where fun was had by all. She was an amazingly loving woman who raised a beautiful family. She raised her own children beautifully, she had a large part in raising her grand and great grandchildren. I will always remember her soft comforting voice and gentle words of encouragement. I can vividly remember a family gathering at my Granny's house right after Anthony, her first great grandchild, was born. He was in his infant seat and she was doting over him. She looked up at Heather with her warm smile and told her "You're doing such a great job, sweetheart." She had a part in each of us, extended family included, becoming parents and caring for our children. She made sure we all had access to the best medical care for our kids at Providence. The doctors joked about Marie's clan of family members who went there as children and then brought our own children. She was always there to comfort a kid after a shot or an upsetting visit. She always came out to snuggle our babies and would say "I look just like your Granny. She/he must think im her." She had a comforting and almost magical touch with our babies. I would always remind her that the babies know who SHE is herself and they love her for HER. She will be dearly missed by every member of our large family and by a huge network of friends and coworkers. She was truly one of a kind and I feel very lucky to have her as my aunt.
May the four winds blow her safely home.
Aunt Marie is part of many of my happy childhood memories. A gentle loving Auntie who always made me feel welcomed and enjoyed, she brought joy to every family get together.
She was a great support to me as a new parent.
Many heartfelt prayers for comfort for her family and friends grieving her loss in our daily lives. Prayers of gratitude and happiness in her soul's homecoming to rejoin loved ones who passed before.
So loss for words right now growing up at the firehouse I always had a blast with uncle Jack and aunt Marie she always used to say ur uncle Jack just loves u and tell amber and I all the stories from the wars and the journeys life brought her through with Maria Becky Joey and Erv ! And most importantly when I became a first time mom she was on the phone with me almost every day I drove her and aunt Cheryl crazy I was a big cry baby but had all the right answers even with complications after having Breanna she came to hospital and seen us brought always big goodie bags of everything for a nursery and emergency kit! Man she was the most softest precious low key spoken encouraging woman I ever met in my life ! To the family I'm so sorry I know no words can explain this feeling of shock of losing ur matrix backbone best friend we are all still here as a family though we drift apart we still are fb messages and phone calls away! So from the Kibler Thompson families we love u and will see u tom
Aunt Marie. You surely willossed by all that knew you. Thank you for all the medical advice when Mikey was little. You were a sweet sole and beautiful woman. Sending prayers and hugs to your family and extended family. Love The Thompson.
I have so many lovely memories of Aunt Marie. I babysat the girls while Aunt Marie was at work when I was in my early teens. She was the epitome of “loving grace” and my thoughts and prayers are with her family.
