Dr. Cynthia A. Dembofsky, MD
April 16, 1966 - November 4, 2024

Dr. Cynthia A. Dembofsky, MD, a beloved mother, wife, and physician known for her kindness, compassion, and adventurous spirit, passed away on November 4, 2024. Born on April 16, 1966, Cindy led a life filled with passion, service, and dedication to those around her.

Cindy is survived by her devoted husband of 34 years, Bruce Dembofsky, of Wallingford, PA; her son, Andrew Dembofsky, of Malvern, PA; her daughter, Abigail Dembofsky, of Wallingford, PA; her parents, Albert and Linda Gombar, of Kennebunk, ME; and her brother, William, and his wife, Laurie-Jean Gombar, of Lyman, ME.
 
A graduate of the University of Connecticut, Cindy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Cell Biology in 1987, followed by her MD from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in 1992. She moved to the Philadelphia area to complete her residency in Pediatrics at A.I. du Pont Children’s Hospital and Thomas Jefferson University, and went on to pursue a fellowship in Neonatology at Thomas Jefferson.

In 1998, Cindy joined Crozer-Keystone Health System, serving as an attending physician in the NICUs at Crozer-Chester Medical Center and Delaware County Memorial Hospital. She was appointed Division Chief of Neonatology at Crozer-Keystone in 2012, a role she held for nearly a decade. From 2021 until her passing, Cindy worked as a NICU attending physician at Capital Health Medical Center in Hopewell, NJ, and at Inspira Medical Centers in Vineland and Mullica Hill, NJ.

Beyond her professional life, Cindy cherished time spent sailing on Chesapeake Bay with Bruce, attending concerts and theater productions, gardening, hiking, cycling, skiing, studying martial arts, cheering on UConn and Philadelphia sports teams, and traveling to new and interesting places. Most of all, she treasured moments shared with her family.
 
Cindy’s warmth, intellect, and unwavering dedication to her patients and loved ones will be deeply missed.
 
Visitation: Thursday, November 14th from 9:30-10:45AM at the Church of St. John Chrysostom, 617 S. Providence Rd., Wallingford, PA 19086.
 
Funeral Mass: Thursday, November 14th at 11:00AM at the church.
 
Interment: Private.
